The Camp Albemarle Experience

Summer Camp 2008

       Camp Albemarle is our Presbyterian camp of 39 acres located on the banks of Bogue Sound in Newport NC. Summer camp information and registration is now available on the camp website, www.campalbemarle.org or in the church Welcome Center.  

This summer’s camping experiences for children and youth: 

• Mini-Camp for entering 1st-4th grades , June 29 – July 1 For first-time campers or someone who is not quite ready for a whole week away.

• Junior Camp for entering 2nd-5th grades, #1 June 8-13, #2 July 6-11, #3 July 27-Aug.1 Arts and crafts, sailing, swimming, Bible study, cabin devotions and lots of fun games.

• Two Week Camp for entering 6th-8th grades, June 15-27For those who love camp and cannot get enough in one week.

• Middle Camp for entering 6th-8th grades, #1 June 15-20, #2 June 22-27, #3 July 13-18, #4 July 20-25.  Camp activities with 13 other campers and 2 counselors in your cabin.

• Sea Kayak Camp for entering 6th-9th grades, July 13-18.  Offered in cooperation with Barrier Island Outfitters, the camp has certified instructors who teach and guide trips around Huggins Island and Bear Island.

• Last-Blast Camp for entering 8th-12th grades, August 3-8 The fun of camp in a laid-back atmosphere with late night and camper’s choice activities.

• SCUBA Camp for entering 9th-12th grades, July 20-25  Local dive shop offers instruction in the pool and open water (weather permitting).

• Service Corps Camp for entering 10th-12th grades, #1 June 8-13, #2 July 6- July 11, #3 July 27-August 1.  For leadership training and experience in outdoor and camp ministry.
