PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Chancel
Choir
The
name comes from where we sit - in the chancel, at the front of the sanctuary.
Under the direction of Bill Wood, we sing a variety of music from
middle ages to the 21 st century, from ancient chant to contemporary.
On a given Sunday, you may hear the choir accompanied by organ,
piano, handbells, guitar, or without accompaniment (a capella).
This is a fun and friendly group. Not everyone in the choir reads
music and skills vary, but we work together and help each other.
Adults and students (senior high and older) are welcome. We are
especially glad to have a number of college students singing with
us. The Chancel Choir meets at 7:30 on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings
at 10:30 .
Westminster Chimes - Bell Choir
A
group of about 10 "ringers" comprise this group. Director is Bill
Wood. We also
play a variety of music from hymn arrangements to
bell peals to medieval liturgical effects. We sometimes accompany
singing choirs and congregational hymns and are sometimes joined
by other instruments. Bell Choir is as much like a family as any
group in the church. Social gatherings are frequent. The group rehearses
Tuesday
nights at 7:30 .
Children's
Choirs
A variety of opportunities for children's music are offered
at FPC.
