NetWorkers Mother's Day Mission Project
Please join the Presbyterian Women in
supporting the NetWorker's Mother's Day
Mission Project. This project is an opportunity
for Presbyterians to help protect mothers
and children in Africa from malaria while we
honor our own mothers. Your donation will
provide mosquito nets and malaria prevention
education programs in six countries in Africa
and Asia. NetWorkers Mother's Day cards will
be available in the Narthex on Sunday,
April 27 and Sunday, May 4. Please stop by
the Presbyterian Women's Missions table and
make a donation to this worthwhile project.
In turn, you will receive a Mother's Day card to
send to someone you love letting them know that
a donation has been made in their honor.
Any questions, please contact Lisa Chappell at 355-0201. |
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
Our Mission Presbyterian Women offers opportunities for women
to strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible study,
prayer, discipleship, and fellowship, so that we may serve the Lord in
our personal lives, our church, our community, and our world.
We encourage our new church members as well as women who
are current church members, but not actively involved in these
opportunities to join other women at First Presbyterian in growing
spiritually, enjoying fellowship, and serving our Lord in the ways that
best fit your needs, time, gifts, and talents.
Coordinating Team The Presbyterian Women’s Coordinating
Team meets monthly for an information and idea exchange. The
purpose of the program and organization of the Presbyterian women
is to provide opportunities for individual women and those in groups,
to grow in the knowledge of Christ.
Circles There are presently 4 circles giving opportunities of
service to God and to others. Schedules are printed in the weekly
newsletter and in the bulletins. A vital part of each meeting is the
Bible study presented by dedicated Bible study leaders. We have
two morning circles – Circle 1 meets on Monday @10:00AM at the
church. Wendy Farrior is the Circle Leader (439-0707). Cypress
Glen Circle meets on Tuesday @10:00AM at Cypress Glen. (but not
limited to Cypress Glen residents). Connie Bond and Genet Lilley are the
Circle Leaders. (Connie- 752-8179) Our two night circles are
Circle 3, which meets Monday @ 7:30 PM in members’ homes.
Elaine Nagy is the Circle Leader (321-6561). Circle 6 meets
Tuesday @ 7:00 PM in members’ homes. Jeri Jackson (215-0648)
and Gail Joyner (756-0501) are the Circle Leaders. Each circle has
its own very rewarding mission project for the year.
Gatherings Presbyterian Women’s gatherings are held in Fall,
Winter, and Spring. The Fall and Winter Gatherings are Luncheons,
while the Spring Gathering is a Dinner.
Tasting Function Our February Tasting Function has become
very popular throughout the area. Our proceeds from this each year
go to the Greenville Utilities Neighbor to Neighbor “matching funds”

those who are in need. Our tasting function this February will be a

to families of our church members at the time of a death. Marilee

our sanctuary flowers to be delivered to those unable to
